Transportation to Camp:Parents are totally responsible for the cost of transporting their children to Riverview. We do provide chartered buses from the Louisiana area (or other areas) if there is a sufficient number of campers from the area. Our chartered buses bring the campers directly to camp, and are chaperoned by Riverview Staff members.We also make chaperoned pick-ups at the Atlanta, Chattanooga, Birmingham, and Fort Payne airports. There is a ground fare pick-up fee for this service. The fares for the chartered buses and airports ground fare are mailed out in April with the Parent Information Packet. If arriving by car, please plan to arrive between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon(CDT) on opening day of camp. On closing day scheduled “Pick-up” is between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.(CDT) Visitors:4 Week CampersIf your child is staying 4 or more weeks, you may make arrangements to visit at the end of two weeks. However, please make arrangements in advance because we do have special activities planned for them. We do not have a Visitor’s Day – but will make special arrangements if requested for the 4 – 6 week campers. Your cooperation is requested in strictly adhering to this policy. You will want to provide extra money for your 4 week camper to go on a chaperoned “Shopping Trip” between sessions.
1 or 2 Week Campers Sunday Services:Christian ServicesChristian service is held each Sunday morning. Sermons and inspirational talks, made by counselors, staff, or guest speakers and musicians provide long-remembered guidance for receptive young minds. Riverview is a non-denominational, Christian camp and we endeavor to provide strong leadership within those principles. Catholic Mass Our campers of the Catholic faith may attend services in Fort Payne, Alabama, unless Sunday falls on an opening or closing day of camp. We provide chaperoned transportation to mass.
